doom 3 crash

my doom 3 is crashing after i launch it all i see is the doom 3 back splash then it exits out for no reason how do i fix this or atleast find out why its crasing i installed doom 3 on a fresh install of windows XP pro
my specs are win xp service pack 1 2.8 pentium 4 1 gig memory 250gig hard drive radeon x1650 pro vide card

The first thing I would reccomend is another gig of RAM, that will make game play alot smoother.
Try uninstalling the game and re-installing it.
