silentweasel:
Broadbandreports.com has good utilities for connection benchmarking.
Try these for benchmarking just the system itself:
www.cpuid.com--this one I've used, nice;
it gives you a well laid-out report- memory, CPU,etc.
http://user.rol.ru/~dxover/cburst/
http://www.winappslist.com/utilities/benchmark.htm

Note--some benckmarking utilities will slow down the system, and it won't speed back up unless it is uninstalled completely.
Sidewinder-XG case, Black
Intel 865PERL-L
Celeron-D 2.8gHz
4 Gb dual-channel DDR
Maxtor-500G-SATA, RAID 0
Maxtor/Seagate-1Tb-SATA, RAID 1(back-up)
ATI 9700--256 ram

I was suprised for a simple .exe,{just run the file and there it is-no need to install}, the program is pretty good, the RAM specs are 'right-on'. It doesn't slow the system down either.

I would suggest using this one.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about that tempurature differential, motherboards typically run cooler that the overall power/AUX system does. It all depends where the temp. sensor for the power input is located. How many extra fans are in your system? As long as there is one 80mm or 120mm fan for cooling the case as a unit you'll be fine, even if your overclocked.

You should also have atleast one controlled by the motherboard{plugged into it}, this one is normally either front or rear fan, I have it mounted in the rear blowing out the bottom fo the case and one 80mm mounted above it blowing into the case, and 2 mounted in front cooling the HDD's.

EDIT
BTW what's your RAM clocks?
Mine is 2.0, 3, 3
